Graphic Design FAQs

Graphic Design

It depends on the project! After we meet, I will send you a quote for all costs. I will also send a quote for printing costs, if applicable.

I don't do free mock-ups (spec work). You're welcome to look at my portfolio and ask as many questions as necessary to make sure my style and capabilities are what you need.

You name it, I can probably do it! I can design posters, flyers, postcards, newsletters, infographics, tradeshow banners, and promotional items.

Yes! Upon project completion, I can send you all original files.

I work closely with several printers and can work with any printers you choose. Printing costs are not included in the graphic design fees.

General

Great! Use the website contact from or email jeanne@jeannethedesigner.com. I'll be in touch within 24 hours (excluding weekends and major holidays).

Absolutely! Contracts protect both the client and the designer, and give us a road map for the project.

It's simple! I require a 50% deposit before I begin the project. The remaining 50% is due upon project completion. Credit card payment is taken through my invoice system. I also take PayPal and Venmo by request.

Process

Most projects are completed within 2-4 weeks. A simple logo usually takes less time than a 10-page website. The timing also depends on client response time.

Most websites include unlimited revisions of your chosen website design until launch. Additional edits after launch can be purchased at my hourly rate.

Additional changes are charged at my hourly rate.

deliverables

Most digital and print files are in JPG, PDF, PNG formats. Editable files are usually in AI or PSD formats. I include the original, editable files in most of my packages. Concepts that were not chosen are not included in any of the final files you receive.

Printing is not included in any of my packages. I can purchase and submit the print job and add it to your invoice.

Client Responsibilities

Communication is key! The client/designer relationship is very important. I need constructive criticism and guidance from you to ensure we're on the same page.

Most new clients receive a comprehensive questionnaire to complete as part of the discovery phase. The questions include information about your business, your goals, and your customers.

Email, messaging, phone calls are my preferred ways to communicate.

This is why communication is so important! In order to make sure we're on the same page, I give you questionnaire, meetings, research and design samples. If you aren't happy, then we can cancel the contract and part ways. I do keep the 50% deposit.

My Design Process

Maintaining a solid designer and client relationship is critical to the design process. We all have different working styles and personalities. Setting expectations and communicating the design process goes a long way towards ensuring the client-designer relationship is successful. The chart below simplifies the process we'll take to create the best brand for your business.

  • 1. Discovery & Scope

Gather information about the client's vision through meetings and questionnaires. I rely on my clients to be as clear as possible about their goals. I then provide a scope of work for the project's implementation. The contract will be sent to the client to review and sign before the project begins.

  • 2. Design

Design concepts are created and presented to the client. This part of the process requires honest feedback from the client.

  • 3. Changes

Design are finalized based on client feedback. I work to make necessary edits to ensure client satisfaction. Three rounds of edits are included in most contracts.

  • 4. Finalization

The designs are completed. All final graphics will be sent to the client and/or printer.
